What if I had to make my CV

This CV is a work in progress, in fact my whole life is a work in progress. The main points are that I am a happy husband and soon to be a happy father compared to that, all what you are going to read is anecdotal.

Main line: I am a process engineer with the IT skills to do both the research and the implementation of custom models for the chemical industry at large.

Some keywords: Process synthesis, modelling, software development (python, PHP, Fortran, C/C++), CAPE.

Positions

Scientific Developer at Atomistix A/S

January 2006 – Present

Atomistix A/S is a privately held company in the nanotechnology industry. Currently we are about 50 employees, but growing quite fast. There I am intensively putting both my process engineering background and programming skills to serve the quantum mechanics world. In fact, I have a lot of fun!

Consultant for TotalFinaElf S.A. (now Total S.A.)

June 2002 – July 2002 (2 months)

Total S.A. is a big company in the oil and gas field. I have been doing consulting for the research group on the implementation of custom models into a process simulator.

Internship at TotalFinaElf S.A. (now Total S.A.)

2001 – 2001 (less than a year)

Research center - Developement of a custom process unit operation model and implementation into the PRO/II simulator.

Owner of XL Solutions, ltd

January 2000 – June 2001

I did some internet hosting, website development and creation, IT related activities, was fun, but I met my girl friend, who is now my wife and then suddenly I had less time to for the company.

Independent worker for the French Ministère de la Jeunesse et des Sports

January 1997 – December 1998 (2 years)

Award of a "Défi Jeune" grant for website developement for the French Ministry of Youth and Sport.

Education

Technical University of Denmark

PhD, Process and product engineering, September 2002 – August 2005

  • Runner-up for the European best PhD thesis in the CAPE area for 2004/2005.
  • Award for the most promising research project of the group in 2003.
  • Development and maintenance of a dynamic and steady state process simulator, including helper tools for process synthesis and property predictions.
  • Moved all over the world to present my work at conferences and do workshops for companies like Mitsubishi Chemicals, Danisco, Firmenich.

ENSGTI

Master, Process engineering, 1997 – 2002

  • President of the ENSGTI student association 2000/2001.

Development

  • Since 2001 - Lead developer of Plume CMS, a simple content management system in PHP.
  • Since 2006 - Developer of ECCE6 conference management software.

Other interests

New technology, free software, cooking, piano, paragliding, forest management.
